108 Room Install – Yandicoogina

Project Duration: Three months

Project Scope

Install an additional 108 rooms and associated services, including Common Rooms, Laundry Facilities, Landscaping and Parking.

The project was to provide planning, management, labour, materials and plant for the installation of 108 rooms for a extension to an existing mine site.

Challenges that Linkforce Engineering faced was the geographical remoteness of the area for the supply of concrete, getting the rooms to site, and then craned into place. The ground works also proved challenging at times due to the tough ground of the Pilbara outback.

Solution

On winning the tender the Linkforce Engineering Projects & Construction team worked on fine tuning a detailed Gantt and methodology, then mobilised to site a small but highly experienced team of men to undertake the works.

Linkforce also overcame the problem of supplying concrete in the remote outback, by transporting to site a mobile concrete batching plant, capable of supplying 60mts of concrete per hour. Along with that other plant mobilised were, cranes, sucker trucks and earthmoving equipment.
