Job Scope

Project requirements were to lift out and replace vibrating screen and any other works with in the area as part of scheduled shutdown maintenance plan.

Other works included.

Replace and repair all worn liners and parent metal in the oversize hood. Replace and repair all worn liners and parent metal in the oversize chute. Replace all dampers and springs in undersize chute. Remove existing rubber in under size chute and replace with ceramic wear tiles Reinstate ready for plant start up.

The removal of the vibrating screen required careful planning as it was classified as a heavy lift and would be completed in an area with multiple work fronts with a large labour force working in and around the area.

Linkforce Engineering used experienced tradesmen from their team of permanent workers to remove the drive shaft, spray bars, oversize hood and washer spill chute as these needed to be removed first. These were located on the ground and any subsequent maintenance work required could take place on those items.

In relation to removing the existing rubber from the undersize chute, Linkforce Engineering used their own trained professional Hydro Blasters to remove the rubber on a night shift to minimise the impact of noise and other contaminants to a larger work group.

Once all the chutes had been repaired and the screen replaced the plant was put back together incident and injury free with 1 shift to spare.
