Overview
Following accelerated wear and chain stretch within two critical apron feeders at Cape Lambert, Linkforce delivered a major refurbishment program to restore the reliability of key rail unloading infrastructure. The project involved the replacement of major mechanical components, structural repairs and lubrication system upgrades across apron feeders AF51 and AF52. Executed within a constrained shutdown environment, the works required specialist maintenance expertise, innovative lifting methodologies and agile execution to minimise impacts to port operations.

Outcome
Linkforce successfully completed the refurbishment of apron feeders AF51 and AF52, including the replacement of chains, pans, shaft assemblies, rollers, impact rails, skirting systems and associated structural components. Despite more than 60 hours of overhead crane disruptions, the team maintained progress through alternative lifting methodologies and coordinated work fronts, restoring the reliability and performance of critical rail unloading infrastructure while achieving zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs).
