Overview

To improve the reliability and safety of critical conveyor infrastructure, Linkforce delivered a major electrical upgrade at Rio Tinto's Dampier operations. The project involved the replacement of approximately 3km of cable ladder, installation of 62km of cabling, fibre optic network upgrades and enhancements to functional safety and high-voltage infrastructure. Delivered within a complex brownfield environment, the works were completed while minimising disruption to ongoing operations.

Outcome 

Linkforce successfully replaced approximately 3km of cable ladder, installed 62km of new cabling, upgraded fibre optic and high-voltage infrastructure, and commissioned new functional safety systems across the 5E conveyor. Supported by new distributed I/O panels, cable management systems and field infrastructure upgrades, the works were delivered ahead of schedule, improving the reliability, safety and long-term performance of a critical rail unloading asset.
