Overview

Following significant flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Sean, Linkforce delivered recovery works at Rio Tinto's East Intercourse Island port facility in Dampier. Scaling rapidly to a workforce of 80 personnel, the team pumped more than 11 million litres of water and completed extensive mechanical and electrical remediation across critical railcar dumper infrastructure. The works restored operational capability and returned the facility to service within five weeks.

Outcome 

Linkforce successfully completed large-scale dewatering, electrical remediation, mechanical refurbishment and recommissioning activities across critical railcar dumper infrastructure, restoring operational capability following extensive flood damage. Supported by the removal of more than 11 million litres of water and the rapid mobilisation of up to 80 personnel, the works returned the East Intercourse Island facility to service within five weeks. The project minimised operational downtime, achieved zero LTIs and demonstrated Linkforce's capability to deliver complex recovery programs under emergency conditions.
