Overview
To reduce energy consumption and operating costs at Fortescue's Iron Bridge Ore Processing Facility (OPF), Linkforce delivered a site-wide lighting automation upgrade. The project involved the conversion of approximately 1,600 lights from manual operation to an automated control system, ensuring non-essential lighting no longer remained operational during daylight hours. Delivered within a three-week timeframe, the works improved energy efficiency while maintaining critical emergency lighting functionality

Outcome
Linkforce successfully automated approximately 1,600 lights across the Iron Bridge OPF through the rewiring of 81 lighting circuits and modification of 36 distribution boards. The completed works reduced unnecessary daytime power consumption, lowered operating costs and supported Fortescue's sustainability objectives, with the initiative expected to achieve full payback in just over one year.
