Overview

With ten cone crushers operating beyond their original design life, Rio Tinto undertook a major upgrade of the High Grade and Low Grade crushing circuits at Tom Price. Linkforce delivered the replacement and commissioning of the crushers, supported by new structural, mechanical, piping and electrical infrastructure. Executed within a complex brownfield environment, the project improved the safety, reliability and maintainability of critical crushing assets across the operation.

Outcome 

Linkforce successfully replaced and commissioned ten cone crushers across the High Grade and Low Grade crushing circuits, together with associated support structures, maintenance platforms, feed chutes, chiller units, hydraulic and lubrication systems, and electrical infrastructure. Supported by more than 260 tonnes of fabricated steel, the completed works modernised critical processing assets, improving reliability, maintainability and long-term operational performance across both crushing circuits.
