Overview

Working atop a live university facility, Linkforce delivered the installation of a new rooftop headframe and associated telecommunications infrastructure at the University of Western Australia's Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre (IOMRC). The project combined structural strengthening works, electrical upgrades and carrier network integration, requiring a coordinated 300-tonne crane lift, innovative problem-solving and careful stakeholder management to safely execute the works within a constrained operating environment.

Outcome 

Linkforce successfully delivered the installation and integration of new telecommunications infrastructure, including carrier antenna systems, RRUs, cable ladder systems and associated electrical upgrades. Supported by structural strengthening works, new rooftop access infrastructure and a coordinated 300-tonne crane lift, the project enhanced network capability while maintaining safe operations and uninterrupted university activities throughout construction.
