The Challenge
The scope of this project encompassed changing out the screen and chute assets in the Cloudbreak plant which were nearing the end of its service life. The deterioration of these assets was causing the plant to experiencing excessive downtime and product spillage. Linkforce were engaged to execute this project, inclusive of the removal of all existing corrosion affected steelwork and the fabrication and installation of newly designed chutes and screens.
Our Solution
Linkforce provided an innovative, well-planned method of execution that effectively accounted for the tight job front areas. Our tailored solution also allowed for both line change outs to be executed utilising a single main crane which was operating across the entire shutdown.
Linkforce sustained all project deliverables and milestones successfully, completing the works in a congested work area with multiple job fronts, achieving the change out of each of the chutes and upgrading all of the screens on both lines, within the one 305-hour shutdown.
Despite some design issues and significant scope creep during execution, our team were able to deliver this project on schedule, with zero injuries or incidents with utilisation of a safe work methodology and quality assurance management systems.
